What will be your role?

• Direct and oversee Repair & Overhaul routines of DND equipment for ship HVAC, Refrigeration, NBC and Sonar Mechanical Equipment at Bronswerk’s facility in Brossard Quebec.
• Serve as point-of-contact for Repair & Overhaul in regard to progress, invoicing, forecast costs, issues, quality trouble shooting and failure notifications.
• Provide detailed reports for each equipment including: received condition,work completed, testing/inspection documents developed/completed, delivered condition and failure analysis process from observations discovered during repair of equipment.
• Work with company engineers and DND to:
 – Develop R&O Procedures;
 – Suggest equipment upgrades based on observations;
 – Suggest equipment upgrades due to obsolescence.
• Lead effort to ensure equipment documentation is up to date.
• Provide start up shop and subcontractor support including, but not limited to:
 – Developing R&O Procedures;
 – Issuing purchase orders for material and subcontractors;
 – Document verifications;
 – Lead failure analysis investigation;
 – Ensure quality documentation (received condition, work completed, failure analysis, repaired condition, material certs, production testing etc.) is carried out and documented;
 – Interacting with DND QAR staff to achieve material acceptance;
• Co-ordinating the material to be returned to DND once repaired.
• Research and stay current in the development of new technologies.
• Provide recommendations on equipment purchase for operability, maintainability, and reliability.
• Support turnarounds planned and unplanned outages and keep DND informed of expected completion dates.
• Establish and maintain spare part strategies to include Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Bill of Material (BOM), quantity levels, etc.
• Lead and implement predictive and preventive maintenance analysis and optimization strategies.
• Benchmark, track, and improve process performance/shop hours and turn around time.
• Research, analyze, prepare, and/or approve information including, but not limited to:
 – Engineering studies
 – Bid documents and Purchase contracts
 – Cost estimates
 – Material specifications/selections
 – Cost benefit analysis

Which candidate profile are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or reliability engineering and/or an equivalent combination of formal education and job-related experience
• 5- 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or repair environment
• Overhaul/repair shop experience is a plus;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks;
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships;
• Exposure to project, cost and schedule management is a plus;
• Possess excellent judgement and professional maturity;
• Analytical skills;
• Participation in process improvement efforts;
• Provide creative solutions;
• Ability to gain a Canadian security clearance is required. (Canadian citizen or PR)
