SAFETY FEATURES
Safety is a critical concern to your crew. Installations are shock resistant and explosion protected. Our engineers address fire and explosion issues when designing for offshore installations – including prevention, control and mitigation. Your system must perform regardless of hazards, including loss of platform stability (arising from collision or uncontrolled flooding), loss of position or emergency ingress of fire, smoke and gas.

The offshore HVAC system may be called upon to support life and essential equipment operation during emergency situations (an internal pressure control system is considered for these situations). Inlets and outlets are protected by fire and gas dampers, and shut-off dampers are both automatically and remotely closable. HVAC fire dampers must close on demand so as not to compromise the quality of the atmosphere in the temporary refuge (TR) space. The dampers provide fire protection for the structure and HVAC inlet & outlet ducting, and also provide some sealing function to prevent excessive air outflow. Internal pressurisation is necessary to prevent air leakage from doors, windows, and drain systems and through the structures’ cladding. They must perform for the specified TR endurance time; normally up to 2 hours. Your HVAC-R custom designed products undergo extensive testing at our factory before being shipped to you for installation to ensure they meet the highest quality and safety standards. All systems offer extremely high reliability and are designed for quick recovery after a platform emergency. |
|
- a central plant that is located in unoccupied areas which facilitates operation and maintenance, controls noise and enables a broader choice of suitable equipment
- a wide choice of zonability, flexibility, and humidity control under all operating conditions
- good design flexibility for optimum air distribution, draft control and local requirements
- suitability for applications that requires unusual exhaust makeup
- adaptability to winter humidification
- improved air quality
AIR HANDLING UNITS
Air Handling Units for offshore use come pre-wired with piping connections extended to the exterior and are ready for onboard mounting. These high-pressure designs are encased by a double-skin enclosure that is insulated throughout. Noise is minimized with our custom-designed, low-profile Integral Discharge Silencer. All fans, coils and controls meet marine-grade standards.
They also feature stainless steel 316L designed casing (chilled-water cooling coil in stainless steel casing, and steam heating coil features Cu-to-Cu fin tube in stainless steel frame). Innovative features include: Dual fans with inlet guide vanes and non-return dampers for redundancy; disposable filters and individual section cleanouts; integrated lifting beam for ease of equipment servicing; and direct-injection steam humidification occurring from a dedicated steam generator.
REFRIGERATION CONDENSING UNITS
Our refrigeration condensing units are designed to be semi-hermetic and compact. They include compressors with stage control and stacked-unit setup to minimize their footprint and their dual-design ensures 100% redundancy. Other features which are available: customized controls, integral starter and water cooler, oil cooler and heat exchanger rack. Refrigeration Condensing Units use the customer’s selected refrigerant.
